Old drains and old pipes in the older neighborhoods
Homes from the 1950s through the 1970s often still have cast-iron drain lines that are rusting from the inside and galvanized or early copper supply lines that leak. Slow drains, sewer smells and repeat leaks are the signs. My older St. Augustine home has slow drains and a sewer smell — what is going on?
In 1950s–70s homes that usually means cast-iron drain lines rusting from the inside, or roots in the sewer line. We run a camera through the line first, then hydro-jet, repair or replace the section that actually needs it and give you a written price before any work.
